DIE Menschen der münchner Tafel -
the people of munich’s foodbank
This series is part of a bigger documentation about the people of the “Münchner Tafel e. V.”, Munich's food bank that each week saves and distributes over 125 tons of food to over 20.000 needy people in Munich. Over several months my colleagues from the Munich Street Collective and I accompanied the volunteers and guests with our cameras. Our aim was to give the people a face without unmasking them, while respectfully addressing the fact that over 20.000 people in the rich city of Munich are dependent on food donations. The results were presented in December 2019 in a huge exhibition in Gasteig in Munich, Germany’s biggest cultural center. It was my great pleasure to contribute with my craft to this great and so much needed project.
